Nestled on Tasmania’s eastern tip, the Freycinet National Park’s sublime, ancient beauty humbles you. From breathtaking vistas to its rare bush orchids, this is a place of awe and renewal - Freycinet Experience
To deliver the exquisite tour, Find Your Feet has partnered with Freycinet Experience, a premium Tasmanian hiking tour operator. We feel so excited to bring our guests to stay at their award-winning, architecturally designed Friendly Beaches Lodge. This is a place where you meander barefoot and allow the roaring beach to send you to sleep at night.
For us, this boutique tour is like returning home. The Freycinet Experience was Hanny's first guiding job and a place where she has roamed the trails, preparing for international competition. In 2005 she spent the Summer as the lodge host, proudly preparing for the guests' arrival as they hiked up the beach. The Freycinet National Park, and more significantly, Friendly Beaches, was also home to Find Your Feet's first Trail Running Tour back in 2010.
Over the duration of our tour you will have access to our expert guides and coaches who always strive to facilitate an environment of education and learning for all elements of trail running. We are eager to share our knowledge on gear, equipment, nutrition, wilderness safety and conservation, adventure or race planning, local environmental and cultural significance and running techniques tips and tricks that will have you dancing, thriving and keeping safe on the trails. This tour is one not to be missed!

ABOUT THE LODGE
It has been called the invisible lodge. Deep within Freycinet National Park, Friendly Beaches Lodge is tucked into a secluded, 130-hectare private sanctuary, just 100 metres from the beach. You’ll retreat here after a day running on the trails to relax, take a hot shower or bath, browse the well-stocked library, enjoy a delicious dinner and sleep in your spacious, private bedroom. The aim of the lodge was to make its environmental footprint as minimal as possible. The sun and rain provide energy and water. The lodge’s busy kitchen produces minimal waste and includes a comprehensive recycling program, whilst composting toilets ensure the lodge’s pristine setting remains undisturbed.

Minimum Run Duration: 7km/75min
Maximum Run Duration: 22km/4-5hrs Technical Difficulty: Beginner - Moderate (some trail experience required) Steepness: Undulating fire-trails to very steep mountain slopes * Our tours are a holiday involving trail running. Our guides will craft each days’ runs to meet your individual needs and en route will frequently stop to soak up the ambience and to take plenty of photos. Therefore, running distances noted in this itinerary can vary to differentiate between guest abilities and make your Find Your Feet Tour a rich experience. Furthermore, the itinerary of this trip is weather-dependent and can be subject to change. This is due to the scheduled boat trip and the slippery granite slopes on the upper stretches of the mountains. All endeavours will be made to execute the itinerary although safety will always be prioritised. |
