The Alta Via 1 is the most famous hut-to-hut High Route in the Dolomites connecting its best-known landmarks. It dates back to the 1969 when the Alta Via 1 itinerary was first published and received its actual name. The classic Alta Via 1 goes from the Braies lake in South Tyrol to a town of Belluno at the southern edge of the Dolomites. This multi-day trekking route links several well-known landmarks of the Dolomite Mountains including the Braies lake, Lagazuoi massif, Cinque Torri group, Monte Pelmo, and the Civetta and Moiazza massifs. These are the true calling cards of the Dolomite Alps what makes Alta Via 1 so popular.
Our 9 day tour is a point-to-point trail run linking many of the highlights. Over the trip you will enjoy many of the famous panoramas of the Dolomites from rooftop trails. We travel lightweight each day between our alpine huts, Refugios and boutique locally run hotels, all with the freedom of luggage transfers.
Over the duration of our tour you will have access to our expert guides and coaches who always strive to facilitate an environment of education and learning for all elements of trail running. We are eager to share our knowledge on gear, equipment, nutrition, wilderness safety and conservation, adventure or race planning, local environmental and cultural significance and running techniques tips and tricks that will have you dancing, thriving and keeping safe on the trails. You will also have the option of massage and physiotherapy services from our expert senior guide (additional cost).
Please note, this is a moderate to advanced tour so technical trail and mountain fitness is essential.
